MARSHALL, Texas — Wiley University has achieved a remarkable milestone for the Fall 2024 semester, with a 23% increase in enrollment, bringing in 368 new students. This growth represents one of the most significant expansions in the institution’s recent history.

“Growing our enrollment by 23% is a tremendous achievement,” said De’Onqua Isaac, Executive Director of Enrollment Management. “This success reflects the hard work of our dedicated team and the supportive community at Wiley University.”

Wiley University’s focus on retention and recruitment has yielded a 7% year-over-year increase in returning students. The institution’s commitment to providing affordable and accessible higher education remains at the forefront of its mission. To meet the evolving needs of students, Wiley has revamped its enrollment process, addressing learning gaps exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and teacher shortages.

The introduction of student success coaches, operating under the new Assistant Vice President for Student Retention and Success, has been instrumental in offering proactive support. "Our investment in re-imagining student support has proven pivotal in enhancing student readiness," stated President and CEO Herman J. Felton, Jr. “This incredible growth is a testament to our team’s dedication to creating opportunities for our students.”

Dr. Danielle Brooks, Vice President of Student Engagement and Enrollment Success, highlighted that this year’s increase comprises a 7% rise in returning students and a 23% increase in new enrollments. “Our focus on supporting students from scholarship to employment has led to significant success,” she noted.

New programs such as women's softball, the graduate school, and the honors college contribute to Wiley's growth. These programs and infrastructure, including a new softball field and graduate programs in business administration, criminal justice, and higher education, have helped the university thrive.

“The surge in enrollment reflects our commitment to our Bold and Audacious Vision of offering high-quality, accessible education,” Mr. Isaac emphasized. “It’s not just about the numbers—it’s about the lives we’re impacting and the futures we’re shaping.”

As Wiley University continues to grow, it remains dedicated to maintaining high academic standards and exceptional student support. The university is thrilled to welcome both new and returning students into its vibrant community.
