Marshall, TX – As part of Wiley University’s Founders Celebration Weekend, the university honored the legacy of the late Warren A. Scott ’65, Board of Trustees Emeritus, with a special naming ceremony on Friday, March 14, at the Aaron Baker Science Building Auditorium. The event, held during the university’s 152nd Founders’ Observance, paid tribute to Scott’s extraordinary dedication to Wiley University and his lasting impact on higher education.
Scott, a distinguished alumnus and lifelong advocate for Wiley University, played a significant role in shaping the institution’s future. His service on the Board of Trustees and his commitment to the university’s mission left an indelible mark on students, faculty, and the broader Wiley community.
“Warren Scott was a champion for Wiley University, a mentor to many, and a guiding force in advancing our institution,” said Wiley University President & CEO Herman J. Felton, Jr. “It is only fitting that we honor his legacy in a lasting way, ensuring that his contributions continue to inspire future generations.”
Family, alumni, friends, university officials, and community members gathered to celebrate Scott’s legacy and reflect on his impact. The naming ceremony was a highlight of Wiley University’s Founders’ Celebration Weekend, which commemorated 152 years of excellence, leadership, and tradition.
